We are looking for a Data Scientist/ Software Engineer to design, build and automate data modeling processes and create/enhance algorithms and predictive models to extract and analyze data and insights for action and the ultimate improvement of healthcare outcomes and delivery. Working on our CARE product suite, this person will work daily with the development and product team but will also collaborate with the delivery team, customers, company leadership, and sales and marketing. The position reports to the Chief Product Officer.
Statistical analysis: Identify patterns in data. This includes having a keen sense of pattern detection and anomaly detection. Solid applied knowledge of advanced statistical techniques and concepts (regression, properties of distributions, statistical tests and proper usage, etc.) and experience with applications.
Machine learning: Implement algorithms and statistical models to enable a computer to automatically learn from data. Solid applied knowledge of a variety of machine learning techniques (clustering, decision tree learning, random forest, artificial neural networks, etc.) and their real-world advantages/drawbacks
Computer science: Apply the principles of artificial intelligence, database systems, human/computer interaction, numerical analysis, and software engineering.
Data Engineering: Cleaning and integrating data
Programming: Write computer programs and analyze large datasets to uncover answers to complex problems. Data scientists need to be comfortable writing code working in a variety of languages and tools:
Experience and or exposure with Postgres sql, Python (Scikit-Learn, TensorFlow, Pandas, Numpy), Docker, and AWS (S3, Redshift, Athena, Lambda), Dashboards (Tableau, PowerBI, QuickSight), and REST APIs
Data storytelling: Communicate actionable insights using data, often for a non-technical audience.
A minimum of 3 years of professional experience and demonstrated track record of success in using data to drive business success and growth outcomes.
Adept at using large data sets to find opportunities for product and process optimization and using models to test the effectiveness of different courses of action.
Experience using a variety of data mining/data analysis methods/tools using a variety of data tools.
Experience building and implementing models, using/creating algorithms and creating/running simulations.
Comfortable working with a wide range of stakeholders and functional teams including engineering and product, sales and marketing, delivery and customer engagement.
Ability to establish and maintain effective, respectful and trusting relationships with clients, consumers and colleagues with varying needs, personalities and styles.
Healthcare acumen and exposure to population health, claims data, and clinical workflows preferred.
Experience with JIRA or similar systems for agile software development
Experience with office software skills (e.g., MS Office or Google Suite) required.
